Ingredients
- 0.5 cup Trader Joe's reduced sodium soy sauce
- 0.5 cup water (for sauce)
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger (peeled and grated)
- 3 clove garlic (minced)
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp chili onion crunch or sriracha
- 1 tbsp tapioca flour or corn starch
- 2 tbsp all purpose flour (optional)
- 1 tbsp avocado oil
- broccoli
- 2 tbsp water (for sauté)
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- beef (steak, cut into bite-sized pieces)
- salt
- black pepper
- sesame seeds (optional)
- rice (for serving) (optional)
Instructions
- Whisk together the sauce ingredients: soy sauce, 1/2 cup water, grated ginger, minced garlic, honey, chili onion crunch or sriracha, and tapioca flour (or corn starch). If using all-purpose flour instead, use 2 tbsp. Whisk until the flour has fully dissolved.
- Heat 1 tbsp avocado oil in a large, deep skillet over medium heat.
- Add the broccoli and 2 tbsp water to the skillet. Sauté for about 5 minutes, then set the broccoli aside.
- Rinse the pan, then add 1 tbsp sesame oil and heat over medium-high.
- Season the beef with salt and pepper and add to the pan. Brown on each side for about 2 minutes (if using chicken, add 2 more minutes per side).
- Turn the heat down slightly to medium and add the prepared sauce. Stir, then let simmer until the beef is cooked through.
- Stir the broccoli back into the pan to combine and heat through.
- Top with sesame seeds if desired and serve over rice.
