Ingredients
- chicken tenders
- egg (whisked)
- all-purpose flour
- bread crumbs
- honey
- yellow mustard
- 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
- tbsp additional Dijon mustard (optional) (optional)
- cornstarch
- water
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Set up three bowls: whisked egg in one, flour in a second, and bread crumbs in a third.
- Dip each chicken tender first in the egg, then in the flour, then coat in bread crumbs. Place coated tenders onto the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with remaining tenders.
- Bake for about 10 minutes, until the breadcrumbs turn golden. Flip the chicken tenders over and bake another 10–12 minutes until the breading is golden and the chicken is cooked through.
- While the chicken is baking, make the glaze: in a small saucepan add the honey, yellow mustard, and 2 tbsp Dijon mustard.
- In a small bowl, mix water and cornstarch until the cornstarch is fully dissolved, then add this mixture to the saucepan.
- Turn the stove to low heat and bring the sauce to a low boil, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens and ingredients are fully combined.
- Taste the glaze and, if you want a stronger mustard flavor, stir in additional Dijon mustard (about 1–2 tbsp) to taste.
- When the chicken is finished, coat each tender completely in the honey mustard glaze. Drizzle any remaining sauce over the chicken and serve.
